the internet was created to be a social medium and file sharing space between people and countries. what happened?
i don't know about you but the philosophy behind this isn't as deep as the poster would like it to be.
so i leave this question up to you people of the internet. ponder this deeply. post thoughts in the comments if you wish but think, if you ate yourself would you get twice as big or disappear entirely?

sometimes sexual exploration should not be posted on the internet
as this couple from florida found out sometimes askig the internets for help with your sex life could be quite detremental to your relationship (or ego)
having said that, jump to http://creativesextoys.com/component/content/article/1-for-men/3-lego-masturbator.html to see a real, working lego sex toy created by some lonely people.i'm no good at painting but this representation of what the "lego auto masturbator's" designer may look like:

Game Arthritis is a gallery by Matteo Bittanti and IOCOSE
his volunteers appear twisted and deformed depending on their chosen consoles
"What are the real effects of digital gaming to our fingers, hands, and bodies? The conformity of interfaces produces deformity. It’s a fact. Call it “the reality of the virtual”. Prolonged vicarious aggression lead to permanent physical disfiguration. Gaming activities produce real consequences for the users. Research has been conducted for years in several clinical laboratories across the globe but doctors and researchers are not willing to share their findings with the general population. However, evidence of new technologically-induced diseases is now becoming known outside of the scientific community. These pathologies - labeled collectively “Game arthritis” - are officially not “recognized”. The authorities have dismissed this hidden epidemic as “mass hysteria”. But according to some scientists - who speak under condition of anonymity fearing ostracization - these undiagnosed disorders are the psychopathology of ludic societies. Digital technology is indeed damaging users’ fingers, arms, postures… Even their DNA is compromised. Game arthritis is not supposed to exist. Game companies do not want to talk about it. Clinicians and dermatologists do not want to discuss it. Labs refuse to run tests. And yet, thousands of players manifest similar symptoms. Thousands of players feel real pain in their bodies. Affected subjects are not delusional. Photos and images are beginning to circulate on the internet. We have collected a few samples."

Your boring conversations kill bees
Recent research in a lone Swiss lab has found that the frequency give off by a mobile phone has the ability (100% of the time) to send bees within a few meters of the phone into a frenzy where they will become dazed, fly away from the hive and suddenly have the equivalent of a heart attack mid flight.

This may be the reason for the large amount of bee deaths around the world.
Good news, it's been reported that bees are building a tolerance to the signals.
Bad news: if the bee had to die it would be way cooler if they exploded

IPod nano next gen spotted
LEAKED! New iPod nano Design leaked by Chinese manufacturers?
It looks like the next iPods are set for launch with a new rear only facing camera at 1.7mp. Personally I think that is too small for apple. What i'm expecting is at least something around 3mp as they have with previous products. Who knows.

Also, you may notice the lack of e ever popular clip that we all are accustom to. Rumors have been flying around stating that there will not be a clip. Personally i'm expecting a magnetic clip. Giving the consumers the choice to clip or not to clip.
But only time will tell

Apple beats fanboys, rape may be next on agenda.
We have all seen them. Cues going back a block on the streets of Melbourne or Sydney ect on apple launch day.
But, the iPad 2, well that's taken it to a whole new level
On a recent launch day in Beijing for the iPad 2 wifi only model (delayed due to Japan tsunami and manufacturing delays) a scuffle broke out between two Chinese 'fanboys' over who was more deserving to get an iPad 2 first.
Needless to say, apple weren't taking any violence on such an important day.
As any dedicated employee wanting to not damage the spotless "ahem" reputation of their company would do they broke up the fight... With a 4mm steel bar.
The resulting pictures are the aftermath of the fight.

On a side note, the steel bar was powder coated black as apple are currently having issues producing white versions of their ifanboy bludgener due for release in November

"business as usual I guess"
One quote from a witness indicates this:
Sanlitun Apple Store bloodshed, because too many people queuing waiting suddenly closed shop, where the weather is so hot multi-line Burongyia, Apple stunned party to a foreigner and a Chinese man actually hands-on, people with the scene confirmed the man was wounded also the guests lined up to buy Apple products. We look at the quality of foreigners, but also that, to earn the money we have in China is also the name of our people.
If you understand that then you are a god

Johnny depp can't see his own film in 3D
In a recent tweet, the Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp stated that due to an abnormality in the shape of his eyes, he unfortunately can't see any 3D films in, well, 3D.

3D lenses angle the light coming through the glasses in a way that creates an overlapping image using the two captured pictures or 'plains'.
If the viewers eyes aren't pointing to the right degrees the lenses won't angle the light at the correct angle.
This unfortunate syndrome can only be rectified through eye surgery. (won't include an image for that one folks) But not all hope is lost! The Pirates star CAN view his most recent film in 3D! All he needs is prescription light angling glasses costing roughly $3m
Come on captain Jack Sparrow! You have all of that Aztec gold and you won't even dish out $3m!

Bark really not as bad as it's bite
If you are scared of the idea of looking down the barrel of a gun knowing that you are going to get hurt then try to imagine staring down set snout of an attack dog bearing superfangs

I wouldn't want to get in the way of that

artist installing flash drives in walls. modern day dead drop.
Aram Bartholl , an artist from NYC has created quite a modern, communal artform.
his latest work, "dead drop" features him installing usb flash drives (not sure of size) into walls around NYC.
The idea is that people would walk up to a dead drop and drop their selected files onto the usb allowing others to look though their life. Shame it's only USB 2.0
"Dead Drops’ is an anonymous, offline, peer to peer file-sharing network in public space. I am ‘injecting’ USB flash drives into walls, buildings and curbs accessable to anybody in public space. You are invited to go to these places (so far 5 in NYC) to drop or find files on a dead drop. Plug your laptop to a wall, house or pole to share your favorite files and data. Each dead drop contains a readme.txt file explaining the project. ‘Dead Drops’ is still in progress, to be continued here and in more cities. Full documentation, movie, map and ‘How to make your own dead drop’ manual coming soon!"

You’re A Judge, Not A Technitian
It's okay, i have come to accept that some older generations can have dificulty understanding new technologies. But when it's your job to implement rulings that can not be wavered, you should at lease understand the difference between IOS and Windows
Looks like Northern Calfornia district judge James Ware doesn’t. In NVIDIA’s class-action settlement (in which owners of Apple, HP and Dell notebook running NVIDIA graphics hardware had malfunctioned), he just ruled that replacing faulty MacBook Pros running GeForce 8400M and 8600M graphics cards with sub-$US500, entry-level Compaq CQ-56′s would be acceptable which, of course, it isn’t. They run on entirely different operating systems.
thanks to giz for the story.

iPhone 4 white is thicker than original black model
Phil shneider, apples vice president of marketing has openly denied that the white iPhone is thicker than the original.
And who's to say he's not right! I mean, come on people, where is the hands on proof of this. Why would apple make the same phone, just in a different color, thicker?

The answer? because they had to.
Despite mr. Shneider's denial issues, apple's white phone 4 is 2mm thicker than its brother due to light filtering and solar radiation.
You heard me correctly. Due to it's high levels of pure whiteness, (highly technical term) the white iPhone 4 can't deflect uv rays like the black model can, meaning that the sun (without the extra thick front and back) would cook the iPhone's innards like a microwave. Think of it as an albino iPhone.
Thanks to engadget for the image

Iphone 5 may not be coming till 2012!!!
You herd right. Looking back on apples past and the fact that apple have begun rolling out the iphone 4s to developers which includes the larger screen and the a5 chip quakes me believe that we will not be seeing an iPhone 5 for another year

Having said that the iPhone 4s or 4gs SHOULD have a bigger screen, the A5 chipset (for up to 10x faster image and video processing)
It is also rumored to feature a metal back as another option to the traditional white and black.
That's if apple can even produce a white version of it within the first ten months of release.
Also, due to the launch of the recent white iPhone the launch date of the iPhone 4s will most likely be pushed back to September.
But don't fret, the larger screened iPhone '4s' ('4gs') is coming. Until then, enjoy angry birds and bookworm on your normal sized, boring 3.5 inch phone and iPod touch
